Morris says Bucs will likely keep four QBs
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris indicated the Bucs might keep all four quarterbacks on their 53-man roster, including Josh Johnson.
"I'm going to keep the best players on this team, I've been saying that from the beginning,'' Morris said. "The best 53. Josh Johnson showed a lot of savvy, a lot of poise that you want. If (Josh) Freeman is going to be the leader of this football team, you want to have a young guy like Josh (Johnson) around, smart and savvy. He can go into a game and get you through. Poised. Athleticism, decision-making. Doesn't need many reps to go do it. That's what you can see out here in these games.
"Is he one of my best 53? Probably.
"There's always some reservations about (keeping four quarterbacks), because you lose a roster spot so to speak. But I've been preaching from the beginning, I've got to keep my best 53 guys on this football team. We've got a long-term plan here and Josh Johnson may be part of that long-term plan.''
