Morris says he told DT Brian Price 'to go home,' after his personal foul penalty

Bucs coach Raheem Morris ejected DT Brian Price from the field after his third quarter personal foul penalty Sunday in a 38-19 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

The Panthers led 31-12 in the third quarter after a 4-yard sack by linebacker Geno Hayes would've made it third-and-13 at the Carolina 16-yard line.

But after the play, Price was called for unsportsmanlike conduct and the Panthers wound up scoring a touchdown on the drive to put the game away.

Morris also used an expletive in his live, post-game press conference in describing his reasoning for ordering Price off the field immediately.

"Yes, I sent him to the locker room,'' Morris said. "I told him go home. F---. Yeah. Because it's foolish, it's selfish to your teammates, to everybody in your organization, to your fans. That's terrible. That's just selfish behavior to get a 15-yard penalty, in that situation, when that's all we talk about, when that's all we discuss. You just can't do that to your team.

"When you give up a penalty, after a third-and-15, those are things that are not smart, not fair to anybody on the football team. Not fair to anybody that's coaching that football team. Those things are unacceptable.''

The Bucs, who are among the most penalized teams in the NFL, were flagged nine times for 73 yards Sunday.  The Bucs have lost six straight games and seven of thier past eight. Morris indicated Sunday that some of his players may have tuned the coaches out.

"You know, they're not listening,'' Morris said. "They've got to listen and we've got to do a better job of coaching. That's all.''
