No surprise: Bucs shut out of Pro Bowl; Joseph alternate
In a reflection of their team's lack of success this season, no Bucs players were among those named to the NFC Pro Bowl squad Tuesday.
A year ago, cornerback Ronde Barber and guard Davin Joseph were added to the Pro Bowl roster as replacements for CB Charles Woodson and G Leonard Davis.
Joseph was named an alternate to the Pro Bowl again this season and will be available if there is an injury or opening at guard on the NFC sqiuad.
The only Bucs player who might have been worthy this season is CB Aqib Talib, who led the team with five INTs. Talib was routinely assigned to the opponent's top receivers.
Woodson, Asante Samuel and Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie are the cornerbacks for the NFC Pro Bowl squad.
Tight end Kellen Winslow had a solid season and led the Bucs in receiving, but his numbers didn't match those of Pro Bowl selections Vernon Davis and Jason Witten.
