Observations from Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are wrapping up the first of two practices today, with this one not as up-tempo as yesterday.
*There has been a lot of work on special teams, with Sammie Stroughter taking turns with Cadillac Williams on receiving punts. Stroughter could be an intriguing option as Clifton Smith is nursing a hamstring injury.
*There were some good one-on-one battles again with receivers and corners, with a good matchup between Aqib Talib and Antonio Bryant. Ronde Barber got a lot of reps against Bryant yesterday, but Barber has been sitting out of most of this practice.
*TE Kellen Winslow has made some nice catches, including one along the sideline, where he tried to stay in bounds.
*RB Cadillac Williams has looked good, moving and cutting well; doesn't look like a guy who is coming off another knee injury.
*Really huge crowd here today, and Raheem Morris has interacted quite a bit with them, signing autographs, etc. So has Barber, and injured WR Michael Clayton.
As opposed to Friday, when the Bucs went "live" on some drills, this practice has focused a lot on special teams, walk-through tye stuff. Believe it or not, it has even included practicing taking a knee in a victory formation.
There's still an afternoon practice starting at 4:50, so there could be more two-minute type stuff then.
