One former Rutgers assistant re-joins Schiano, more to follow
The Bucs are expected to add several of coach Greg Schiano's Rutgers assistants to their coaching staff in the coming days, and the first one may already be on board.
Former Rutgers receivers coach P.J. Fleck, after a bizarre series of events this week, reportedly is headed to Tampa Bay to coach the Buccaneers' receivers. Fleck had joined Northern Illinois this week as the school's offensive coordinator, but resigned on Friday -- one day after being named -- presumably because of his plans to join the Bucs.
The news of Fleck's decision to join the Bucs is being reported by ESPNChicago.com.
Fleck coached under Schiano at Rutgers for the past two seasons. Before that, he was the receivers coach at Northern Illinois, where he also played receiver.
Several other Rutgers assistants who remain on the school's staff, including offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti and defensive coordinator Bob Fraser, are expected to join the Bucs' staff by early next week.
