Penn has no plans to show for minicamp
Here's (hopefully) the last word on Bucs left tackle Donald Penn, for today at least.
We've learned Penn is not going to show for minicamp next week, despite coach Raheem Morris' optimism earlier today.
Penn is locked in a contract dispute with the club. He was tendered a restricted free agent contract of $3.168 million for one year, which has since been lowered by $100,000 by the Bucs under league rules. He has opted not to sign it, leaving him unsigned as he continues to demand a long-term contract.
Assuming Penn sticks to his guns and skips minicamp, the next watermark in this story will come when the Bucs report for training camp. If he remains unsigned at that point, he won't be taking part.
