Quick hits from Raheem Morris' Monday news conference
Here are some highlights from Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris' Monday news conference.
On beating the Cardinals:
"Yesterday was a great example of seizing the moment, rising to the occasion."
"That was a loud stadium. That was awesome yesterday. It was a playoff environment."
On the youthful Bucs learning how to win:
"The present of this football team is pleasing. The fruits are bearing early. The future is bright. Right now you're starting to see what your team can be."
"We're not a complete product yet. But i certainly like where we're going."
On learning how to win:
We're so young, you don't want to say what they got. You never want to say I got it. We're learning how to be great. We're learning how to win football games, close ones. Every game we play is a lesson."
On whether or not it's too soon to bring making up the playoffs:
"It's a race to 10. Usually 10 wins provides you a great opportunity to qualify for the playoffs. Usually that gets you there. We're at 5, and we're continuing at that model."
On Aurellious Benn's progress:
"It was an unfair comparison (between Mike Williams and Arrelious Benn). He's a guy that was developing a little slower than Mike, but has all the tools."
"His confidence grows more and more every week."
On the progress of the defense:
"Score or get the ball back. That's it. That's your only job. Score or get the ball back."
On how the defense did Sunday:
"It was phenomenal. We scored twice. They did their job, they scored and they got the ball back."
On the state of the wide receivers and whether or not Randy Moss will be pursued:
"We have six young dynamic wideouts that we're building for the future. We love what we've got. We probably won't require Randy Moss' services right now."
On the Bucs matchup against Atlanta Sunday:
"I'm excited about every Sunday. I can't wait to get to Atlanta to go compete against Mike Smith. We're going to go out there and battle and try to get our sixth win."
More on the Bucs' progress:
"Last year you're coming off the purge of all the veterans. They put themselves in a situation where they had a chance to win. Now coming into this year, they have the feeling they can beat some good quality opponents."
On Atlanta's standout wide receiver Roddy White:
"Roddy's been a fun guy to watch. He came in as this young guy, playing hard and physical .. now he's developed into a full blown wideout in this league. He's a bigtime wideout that we look forward to playing against."
