Quick hits from Raheem Morris' Monday news conference

Here are some highlights from Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris' Monday news conference.

On the aftermath from Sunday's loss:

"Obviously, a disappointing day to lose a game in the fashion that we lost it. Last night was miserable."

"The Monday morning quarterback has a perfect passer rating."

On rethinking the playcalling during the Bucs' last drive:

"Just going through the game, you talk about having the ball down there inside the 30 yard-line. Looking back at it, having 5 ... you'd like to give him a chance to go win the game. Not that it was a bad decision. You've got to go back and look at it and evaluate everything."

"Yesterday, looking back at it, you can second guess it. Keeping the ball in 5's hands, and let him control your destiny more."

"Keep it in 5's hands a little bit more. Not that I'm second guessing myself. I'm evaluating myself."

"That's the time you have to fall back and go with your head coach mentality and say 'I'm going to win this game with 5.'"

On defending Calvin Johnson:

"A lot of his plays were the Megatron plays that you're used to. He took his turn beating everybody on our football team. You just have to go out there and win those matchups."

"You just look at 81. We got gutted by that guy. When they needed it, he did it for them."

On penalties:

"Yesterday we hurt ourselves with penalties. Every time we looked up it was 3rd and 15 ... Amazingly we converted a lot of them."

On defensive breakdowns:

"It wasn't the linebackers. We missed a couple gaps up front. We had a bunch of guys take turns missing fits. This is the first time we had a bunch of poor tackles or missed tackles."

"Yesterday that was the problem, the lack of consistency on what we were doing on defense."

"We just have to find a way to get better throughout."
