Quick hits from Raheem Morris' Monday news conference

Here are some quick hits from Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris' Monday news conference.

On Morris' previous statement about the Bucs being the best team in the NFC:

"You are what your record says you are. We're tied for the fewest amount of losses, so that makes us the best team."

On the number of backups the Bucs had starting on Sunday:

"Once you go out there, you're not a backup anymore. You're a starter now. It's a credit to my coaching staff to be able to play such young players."

On the Bucs' running game:

"We showed what we can be by both backs going out there and being productive."

"It's nice when you have that big physical runner ... the same type of presence LeGarrette Blount presents."

On the numerous penalties Sunday:

"We've got to play smarter across the board."

"We can't start a drive on the 6 and get a penalty. We have got to be a better football team."

On the Bucs' numerous player rotations:

"Sabby (Piscitelli) has done a nice job when he's gone out there. We have a bunch of different rotations. Even our guys on our practice squad know they can be called upon."

On Jerramy Stevens' arrest before Sunday's game:

"We knew about it the night before the game. You always make the right football decisions for your team, and that's what we did."

More on LeGarrette Blount:

"(He) is getting better and better. Everything right now is beign fast-forwarded into his head."

On the Bucs' poor start Sunday:

"You want to follow some type of formula but every game is played out differently. At the beginning of the game, we weren't able to execute our plan (penalties, not playing smart)."

On next week's game at Arizona:

"Our team likes the hostile environment when we're on the road."
