RB Clifton Smith, DT Brian Price miss practice again
Running back/kick returner Clifton Smith and defensive tackle Brian Price missed practice again Friday morning as both players rest sore hamstrings.
Price, the Bucs second-round pick, made a good impression early in training camp. But because a hamstring injury forced him to miss most of the off-season, the team is being cautious.
Smith probably needs to get back on the field in a hurry. He played in just 11 games last season, battling a pair of concussions. With the emergence of Micheal Spurlock at receiver and rookie free agent Preston Parker beginning to flash at receiver and special teams, Smith may find himself in a competitive situation.
Right now, the third tailback appears to be Kareem Huggins, who is doing a good job running and catching the ball out of the backfield.
