Report: Buchanon to visit Lions

Cornerback Phillip Buchanon is tired of waiting around.

The Bucs free agent will visit the Detroit Lions tonight, according to the reports out of Michigan.

The Lions already have signed Titans cornerback Eric King and traded for Anthony Henry in a deal that sent quarterback Jon Kitna to the Cowboys.

Re-signing Buchanon is a priority for the Bucs, especially considering the switch to the new system under defensive coordinator Jim Bates which relies on bump-and-run coverage.

But it's been hard for the Bucs and Buchanon to agree on his contract value, especially with the inflated deal signed with the Redskins by DeAngelo Hall.

"The cornerback market is a mess,' general manager Mark Dominik said.

The Bucs are hosting a visit from Bills free agent cornerback Jabari Greer, 27, who has played both nickelback and started in five seasons in Buffalo. The Bucs are expected to visit with Giants free agent running back Derrick Ward Tuesday.
