Rookie Da'Quan Bowers signs his deal
Bucs second-round pick Da'Quan Bowers, whose epic fall from the top 10 was one of the stories of the draft, has signed his contract.
Details aren't immediately available, but the deal is likely for four years, possibly with an option for a fifth year. Via his Twitter account, Bowers proudly announced the news, writing, "Feels good to finally be a buc officially.... Dotted line signed."
Bowers, whose January knee surgery left teams nervous about his future, caused his huge slide in the draft. Projected as a possible top 5 pick, he ended up falling to the Bucs at No. 51 overall. At the time, his outlook after surgery was uncertain, at best. But Bucs general manager Mark Dominik suggested Tuesday that Bowers will be ready to go when the Bucs begin training camp on Friday.
The Bucs now have four of their eight draft picks under contract, with first-rounder Adrian Clayborn, third-rounder Mason Foster and seventh-rounder Daniel Hardy also signed.
