Ruud selected to USA Football/NFLPA "All Fundamentals" Team
LB Barrett Ruud has sported a different look the last couple days, having cut his long hair to a more clean-cut look.
“I’m just corporate now,” Ruud joked. “The anti-establishment Barrett is in the past. (Coach Raheem Morris) was actually depressed. He said, ‘Oh, you’ve got to consult me on that sort of thing. My girlfriend didn’t care, but my coach was devastated. So I’m trying to make it up to him now.”
Ruud did earn Morris’ praise for being selected to the USA Football/NFLPA “All Fundamentals” team, one of 26 NFL players chosen annually for consistently executing fundamentals and impacting their communities. A panel, including former NFL coach Herman Edwards, picked the team, with the likes of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and Saints LB Jonathan Vilma. Ruud was picked for “form tackling.”
“It’s pretty cool,” Ruud said. “I didn’t know a lot about it, but when you see the people that are also on the team, it’s pretty good.”
