Schiano: Too early to tell if Wright will play
Bucs cornerback Eric Wright did not practice Wednesday as he continues to deal with a nagging Achilles injury, and coach Greg Schiano said it's "too early to tell" if he'll be able to play Sunday.
Wright has started, but missed big chunks of the last two games after aggravating the injury, suffered late last month. Schiano had indicated the Achilles got hit a few times Sunday, but Wright said all he remembers is pain, and he's just trying to work through it and play an entire game.
WR/KR Arrelious Benn also didn't practice, and Schiano said they'll have to "wait-and-see." Benn mostly played on special teams Sunday, though he filled in for WR Tiquan Underwood when he got shaken up late in the fourth quarter. Schiano was encouraged with right guard Jamon Meredith, who has responded "surprisingly well" since playing Sunday after hurting his ankle in practice last week.
In Falcons injury news, coach Mike Smith said WR Julio Jones - who left Sunday's game after aggravating a sprained right ankle - is expected to return to practice this week and is "very optimistic" about him going forward.
