Suh outperforms McCoy in combine but which player will go first in the draft?
Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh outperformed Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy in most drills at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Suh demonstrated his athleticism with a vertical leap of 35.5-inches. Of course, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Some teams have McCoy actually rated higher becuse of his ability to penetrate as a pas rusher. But Suh played in more of a read-and-react defense and also has pass rush ability, as evidenced by his 4 1/2 sacks against Texas.
If the Rams take at quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick, the Bucs would have either Suh or McCoy fall to them at No. 3. The Lions are expected to take the best available defensive tackle at No. 2.
McCoy said he would be 'honored,' to be the top pick in the draft.
"I'm just happy to be considered to even play in the NFL,'' McCoy said at the NFL combine. "To be a possible No. 1 pick is a great honor...It's not very important to me, but it would be an honor. I just wanted to be drafted as high as I can.''
So which player is better? Depends of who is evaluating them.
"It's a little more McCoy 1A and Suh 1B," said former Texans GM Charley Casserly, a draft analyst for NFL Network. "I ask two questions: Who's the better athlete and who's the better pass rusher? McCoy comes up more often than not as the yes guy there."
Which player do you believe would be best for the Bucs (remembering that they would be thrilled to select either one)?
