Suspension cost Tanard Jackson a steep price

If you're wondering whether Tanard Jackson has learned his lesson after enduring his second substance-abuse related suspension in two years, there's arguably a very good reason for him not to do it again.

During his 56-week suspension, during which he missed 19 games, Tanard Jackson lost more than his place on the field and the camaraderie that comes from being around his teammates.

It also cost him financially. Jackson forfeited more than $668,000 in total. This comes from sitting out 14 games of 2010, when he was scheduled to make a base salary of $550,000, and five games of this season, for which he's on the books for $600,000 in base salary.

That's a steep price to pay for using marijuana, which we know was Jackson's drug of choice.
