With Aqib Talib now suspended for the season opener, the Bucs are left scrambling to figure out the fallout in their secondary.

Here's what's likely to happen. For one, the Bucs probably will keep an extra cornerback on their final roster -- at least for Week 1 -- because Talib will temporarily be on the Suspended List and not subject to the 53-man maximum until he returns.

So, who starts in Talib's place? That, most likely, will be E.J. Biggers. Strangely enough, he'll be playing his first regular season game after he was injured in the preseason as a rookie last year. Biggers has been serving as the nickel back during the preseason, meaning someone will have to fulfill that role. That could be Elbert Mack, who was the third cornerback last season and is the most experienced of the reserve cornerbacks. Rookie Myron Lewis is a possibility, too, but he's not as far along as the team would have hoped after missing much of training camp and the preseason with a hamstring injury.

Talib's absence this week could mean the Bucs will keep another backup like Derrick Roberson on the final roster in the event there is an injury.
