Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Roy Miller 'is our third' DT.
Rookie Roy Miller has made a quick impression on the Bucs.
The third round pick from Texas was impressive again Tuesday during a live red zone scrimmage. According to coach Raheem Morris, Miller has played well enough to be considered the third defensive tackle behind starters Chris Hovan and Ryan Sims.
"If I was making a decision based on OTA days and if I was making a decision based on these couple weeks of camp, you'd have to say Roy Miller is our third tackle right now and he's going to be in the rotation,'' Morris said. "And I hope it's true. Not knocking the other guys, but he's really stepped up and he's really played well.''
"He shows up every day. Everytime you start talking about the grunt work, 9-on-7 and team run and goal line periods and live periods, you really start to see Roy. You see him run through a bag, you're not that impressed. He's kind of short and kind of squatty. It's all fun and games until he puts his hands on you.''
