Facing drug charges after being arrested Saturday night, Tampa Bay Buccaneer's tight end Jerramy Stevens won't play in Sunday's game.
Stevens is charged with felony possession of cannabis with intent to sell, felony possession of cannabis and a misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's web site.
"Obviously Jerramy won't be playing today," said Jonathan Grella, the director of public relations for the Buccaneers. The Bucaneers take on the St. Louis Rams in Tampa at 1 p.m.
"We are deeply disappointed by the news," Grella said. "We'll treat this matter with the seriousness that it deserves."
Stevens, who has been with the Buccaneers since 2007, was arrested at Cypress Street and Westshore Boulevard just after 7 p.m. and taken to the Hillsborough County jail.
He was released on $4,500 bond a few hours later.
Stevens has a history of arrests including several for alcohol-related incidents.
