Tomlin on Morris: Bucs in "great hands"
With Raheem Morris expected to be introduced as the Bucs new head coach today, there will ultimately be comparisions drawn to his mentor, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin, a high-energy former Bucs defensive backs coach, was hired young (age 34) without any NFL head coaching experience (he was a defensive coordinator for the Vikings). Two years later, Tomlin has the Steelers playing in Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Ravens.
Morris, 32, a former Bucs defensive backs coach, has no previous head coaching experience. But Tomlin said the Bucs are in "great hands."
"Raheem is an exceptional coach and, more importantly, he's a better person," Tomlin said. "Leadership is something he does not have to work at, it oozes out of him. The Tampa Bay organization and its fans are in great hands."
