Update: Wright will play against the Raiders
Update 3:30 p.m. CB Eric Wright, who has been limited this week in practice due to an Achilles injury, will play Sunday against the Raiders, defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan said today.
Developing: Whether Bucs cornerback Eric Wright plays on Sunday against the Raiders remains to be seen.
But Wright appears to be making progress with his Achilles injury, as he was out practicing again with the Bucs Thursday morning - at least during the 30-minute portion available to the media. Wright has been limited in practice this week due to the injury, which he apparently suffered Thursday against the Vikings.
We won't know how much Wright participated in practice today until coach Greg Schiano addresses the media this afternoon, and the injury report comes out later.
Schiano has praised rookie CB Leonard Johnson for stepping in last Thursday, and he could fill in for Wright if he can't play Sunday. But the fact Wright is practicing is a good sign for him.
There's also still been no update on a Sunday report by Fox Sports' Jay Glazer Sunday that Wright is facing a four-game suspension for using Adderall.
