Weekend tryouts yield Buccaneer roster spots

The Buccaneers have done a little roster shuffling in the wake of the weekend's rookie mini-camp.

The team has announced the signings of WR Pat Carter (Louisville), T Demar Dotson (Southern Miss), RB Kareem Huggins (Hofstra), CB Evan McCollough (James Madison). As we foreshadowed on Sunday, the team also added USF prospects DE Jarriett Buie OL Marc Dile and WR Amarri Jackson.

To make room, WR Paris Warren, T Andre Douglas and CB Greg Fassitt were released.

There are now 15 undrafted free agents on the roster, which is at its offseason maximum of 80 players after today's moves. Last week's six draft picks will not count against the roster until they officially sign their contracts which doesn't typically happen until the summer.

The absence of any news on James Madison QB Rodney Landers indicates the Bucs decided against signing him. Coach Raheem Morris raved about Landers on Sunday and raised the prospect of adding him as a special-teams specialist. Morris put Landers through an individual workout after the mini-camp and said he would mull the idea of offering Landers a contract. At least for now, it looks like that didn't happen.
