We're No. 4!
Michael Silver of Sports Illustrated has compiled an interesting list, ranking NFL owners 1 through 32 based on several factors. The Glazer brothers ranked fourth, but there's a lot of room for discussion here.
In his column, Silver writes, "many factors are considered -- business savvy, devotion to league growth, aggressive pursuit of winning -- with one overriding consideration: If you're a fan of the team in question, do you want this person (or people) making the big decisions?"
Those are pretty good criteria. But do the Bucs belong at No. 4, behind only Robert Kraft (Patriots), Jerry Jones (Cowboys) and Jerry Richardson(Panthers)? Take a look at the list here and tell us what you think.
We think you'll find something to disagree with. For us, the one that jumped off the page was the Redskins' Daniel Snyder at No. 5. All that wheeling and dealing has sure gotten him a whole lot, huh? And considering the Bucs' recent woes, there's plenty to scrutinize in Tampa, too. Although, to their credit, it appears it was the Glazers who prudently stepped in and squashed any thoughts Jon Gruden and Bruce Allen had of mortgaging many of their later picks to move higher in the April draft.
Anyway, this is just for fun. Nothing too serious here. But interesting nonetheless. In the meantime, have a happy Fourth.
