Winslow Sr: Junior's the better athlete

One of Kellen Winslow's biggest fans once played the same position and has the exact same name.

His Hall-of-Fame father, Kellen Winslow Sr., is one of the NFL's all-time great tight ends. Naturally, he should know a little about tight ends. Though his son's production to this point doesn't put him in nearly the same class as his father, Winslow Sr. believes his potential is limitless.

"Is he a better athlete than me?" Winslow Sr. told the Times. "Absolutely. I've known that since he was 10-years old. Anyone who knows anything knows that."

Another thing Winslow Sr. seems certain of: That his son has grown a great deal over the past several years. Winslow Jr. might forever be remembered for his post-game outburst at Miami, but Winslow Sr. hoped Tampa Bay would soon learn that Winslow Jr. isn't the same individual.

"Anybody, if they're smart, is not the same person you were five years ago," Winslow Sr. said. "You grow and you go through a natural process. I don't care if you're a CEO or in Congress. He wants to win and this is a new step for him."
