Dominik told Freeman not to attend first meeting so Schiano could meet with him
Quarterback Josh Freeman missed another meeting Tuesday morning but this time it was the Bucs' idea.
General manager Mark Dominik said he told Freeman not to attend the 7:45 team meeting until he had a chance to speak privately with coach Greg Schiano about the events of Monday.
Following a mandatory NFL meeting for all players at 8, Freeman and Schiano talked about the report by ESPN's Chris Mortensen which revealed he was a stage one participant in the league’s substance abuse program.
On Tuesday, Schiano said he was 'absolutely not,' the source of information leaked about his involvement in the drug program.
"Because of all that happened Monday night, Greg wanted to meet with (Freeman),'' Dominik said. "I excused him and told Josh hold tight. Josh did everything else today. He didn't miss anything. Coach wanted to talk to him about how we're going to move forward with him.''
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports said sources told him it was done to make other players think that Freeman missed another meeting.
