Draft day is here: Bucs like A&M options

After endless months of waiting -- an extra two weeks beyond that usual offseason -- NFL draft day has arrived. The Bucs have the No. 7 pick in tonight's first round, and our preview in Thursday's Times has Rick Stroud writing about a trio of tempting prospects from Texas A&M: quarterback Johnny Manziel, receiver Mike Evans and tackle Jake Matthews. Those three line up with some of the Bucs' biggest needs, but which player will still be around at No. 7?

Our draft-day notebook looks at the last two times one college at three players in the top 10 of a draft -- the Bucs were involved both times as well. We also look at the teams most likely to trade up in the first round, and which quarterbacks might make an awkward fall through the first round tonight.

The Times' Gary Shelton writes about the silliness of draft speculation -- "much of this is hooey," he explains.

We'll have a ton more tonight as the picks unfold and the Bucs find out who they're able to grab in the first round. Follow @gregauman and @NFLstroud for updates on Twitter as well ...
