Familiar Ring: Broncos, too, will honor John Lynch this fall
John Lynch has another work conflict from his broadcast duties in the upcoming NFL season.
The retired safety, already headed to the Bucs' Ring of Honor at a home game this fall, will also be inducted into the Broncos' Ring of Fame, the team announced Tuesday. Lynch played his final four NFL seasons in Denver -- making the Pro Bowl all four years -- after he was released from the Bucs after 11 seasons in Tampa.
No official dates have been set for either team's ceremonies -- it's possible the Bucs could honor Lynch when the Broncos play in Tampa on Oct. 2.
Lynch is not the first member of the Bucs' Ring to share that honor on another team -- last year's enshrinee, Doug Williams, is also in the Redskins' Ring of Fame. Lynch is now a three-time finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, making the cut to 10, and perhaps the two team honors can help his case to join Bucs teammates Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp and coach Tony Dungy in Canton.
