Fans to get Brooks bobblehead at Ring of Honor game
As if having linebacker Derrick Brooks inducted into the Bucs' Ring of Honor and retiring his No. 55 jersey weren't enough for Sept. 14, the Bucs have added another bonus for fans, giving away Brooks bobbleheads at the home game at Raymond James Stadium.
The Bucs' 4:05 p.m. game against the St. Louis Rams, now a safe bet to sell out soon, will pay tribute to the soon-to-be Hall of Famer at halftime, just as Warren Sapp was honored last year with the Ring of Honor and retirement of his No. 99 jersey. But the bobblehead honor for Brooks is rare in Bucs' history -- fullback Mike Alstott had an "A-Train" bobblehead given out on "Mike Alstott Night" in 2008.
Brooks will become just the third Bucs player enshrined at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on Aug. 2, joining Sapp and the late Lee Roy Selmon. Details about the bobblehead promotion will be released shortly.
