Glennon: 'Rough one for offense, that starts with me'
TAMPA -- Bucs rookie quarterback Mike Glennon struggled Thursday night, throwing for just 63 yards with two turnovers in a 30-12 loss to the Redskins to wrap up Tampa Bay's preseason.
"It was a rough one for our offense, and that starts with me," Glennon said after going 7-for-16 for 63 yards with a fumble and interception. "I have to play better, but the bright spot is this preseason and everything's still a learning experience for me. Even though I didn't play real well, I'll learn from this and because of it, i'll be a better player."
Glennon completed just four of his first 11 passes for 13 yards, but picked up in the third quarter, connecting on a 25-yard pass to newcomer Jordan Norwood and another pass to Eric Page. His interception, to college teammate David Amerson, set up a touchdown for the Redskins just before halftime.
"I just couldn't really get things going," he said. "I have to do a better of executing our offense. We'll watch the tape, but more important now, it's time for the season and getting ready for New York."
