Gottschalk on IR, Bucs promote CB Javien Elliott, OL Josh Allen
The Bucs made a handful of roster moves Tuesday, starting with offensive lineman Ben Gottschalk, who played well in two games as an injury replacement, going on injured reserve with a knee injury suffered in Sunday's win at Kansas City.
With Gottschalk gone, the Bucs promoted guard-center Josh Allen from the practice squad, and with cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah suspended for the next four games, cornerback Javien Elliott was also promoted from the practice squad. Allen played for the Bucs briefly in 2014; Elliot is a former walk-on from FSU who played only one season of college football; both have spent the entire season on the practice squad.
The Bucs have also signed three new players to the practice squad in OL Mike Liedtke, CB Cody Riggs and WR Myles White.
-- Liedtke, who will wear No. 65 for the Bucs, played at Illinois State and has had brief stints with the Dolphins, Chiefs, Jets and Browns without playing in any games.
-- Riggs, who will wear No. 27, went to Florida and Notre Dame and has played for the Titans, with seven tackles on defense and another seven on special teams.
-- White, who will wear No. 80, went to Louisiana Tech and has played for the Packers and Giants, totaling 16 catches for 154 yards and a touchdown. At 6 feet and 190 pounds, he's more of a speed receiver, having been timed at 4.42 seconds at his college pro day.
