Jameis Winston baptized at spiritual retreat for players
Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston is making national headlines for good reasons in the offseason, as was the case Friday afternoon after he was baptized with his girlfriend, Breion Allen, at a spiritual retreat for NFL players in Colorado.
Allen posted a short video of the baptism on her Instagram page, where she has more than 25,000 followers, saying "Last night I accepted Christ into my life for the first time. So thankful for this #PAO experience for helping me grow closer in my faith and to be around people trying to do the same."
PAO is Pro Athletes Outreach, a group whose goal is "to unite a community of pro athletes and couples to grow as disciples of Jesus and positively impact their spheres of influence." They host annual four-day retreats called The Increase Conference, with this week's in Colorado aimed at NFL players. Winston's presence there was featured in a story on TMZ.com.
Winston will be back in Tampa next week -- he's participating in the pro-am event at Innisbrook on Monday, along with former Bucs players like Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn and Ronde Barber.
