Jameis Winston excited for FSU reunion vs. Jaguars next week
The Bucs have two joint practices with the Jaguars in Jacksonville this week in preparation for their preseason game next weekend, and quarterback Jameis Winston is excited about the chance to practice with two of his former FSU teammates in safety Jalen Ramsey and linebacker Telvin Smith.
"I'm very excited," Winston said. "One reason is because I get to reunite with my teammates again, with Jalen. Telvin is going to be running his mouth the whole team. I already can expect it. But that's what I love, and that's why I'm really excited, just to be playing against him. Just to get that feeling back because I know he's very passionate and I know he's going to bring it, and he's not going to take any plays off."
The Bucs and Jaguars combine for seven former FSU players, all age 25 or younger -- the Jaguars have four in Ramsey, Smith, receiver Rashad Greene and outside linebacker Bjoern Werner, while the Bucs have Winston, kicker Roberto Aguayo and cornerback Javien Elliott.
The Seminoles reunion won't be done there -- the next week, the Bucs play host to two joint practices with the Browns, who have one of Winston's old linemen in Cameron Erving and a rookie defensive lineman in Nile Lawrence-Stample.
