Jets coach Ryan on Revis: 'guy like him comes around every 15-20 years, if that.'
Jets coach Rex Ryan was effusive in his praise of cornerback Darrelle Revis, who will be wearing 'enemy colors,' when he returns to MetLife Stadium Sunday.
"A guy like him comes around once every 15-20 years, if that,'' Ryan said.
Revis, who was traded to the Bucs in exhange for a first round pick in 2013 and a third rounder in 2014, did not play in the preseason as a precaution against injury while recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee he suffered in Week 3 at Miami a year ago.
Ryan said Revis was known as the premier corner in football. 'A physical player who shows up every day to compete,'' Ryan said. "He's tougher than heck. It's a joy to coach him, I can tell you that much. He doesn't let you catch a ball in walk-through. He's a tremendous competitor.
"You have to look at him different than you look at any other corner. He has a tendency to boomerang them.''
