Louis Murphy to speak Saturday at St. Petersburg College
Former Bucs receiver Louis Murphy will be the keynote speaker at the "Keys to Manhood" seminar on Saturday at St. Petersburg College.
Murphy, 29, who also played at Lakewood High and the University of Florida, will speak on issues including overcoming legal obstacles and making good financial and career decisions at the free event, which starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. at the SPC Allstate Center. Those interested can register at www.spcollege.edu/max, and registration for the event has been extended to Friday.
Murphy, active in his hometown community through his "1st Downs 4 Life" charity, did not play last season as he recovered from injuries, and he was waived by the Bucs in November. The NFL free agent, who was part of two national championship teams with the Gators, has 162 catches for 2,322 yards and 10 touchdowns in his eight seasons in the NFL.
