Nicks, Crabtree out for Sunday's game against Jets
As expected, Bucs left guard Carl Nicks was officially ruled out of Sunday's game, according to the team's official injury report Friday.
Nicks, who is dealing with MRSA, a serious staph infection, has not practiced all week, but coach Greg Schiano kept saying it was still possible he could play. It looks like Gabe Carimi, who has been getting most of the reps at left guard, will step in and start for Nicks on Sunday.
TE Tom Crabtree, who has an ankle sprain, was also ruled out. CB Rashaan Melvin (hamstring) did not participate in Friday's practice and is doubtful. Both RB Mike James (eye) and FB Erik Lorig (ankle) were limited and are listed as questionable.
RT Demar Dotson, who was limited in Friday's practice due to an aching back, is listed as probable. As is CB Darrelle Revis, who has practiced all week.
For the Jets, WR Santonio Holmes (foot) returned to limited participation in Friday's practice but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
