One more injury: Bucs LT Donovan Smith not practicing
The Bucs have another injury to a key player to keep an eye on this week, as starting left tackle Donovan Smith did not participate in Wednesday's practice, the Bucs' first since Sunday's loss at Arizona.
There was no immediate word on exactly what Smith's injury was -- nothing was obvious from watching him on the sidelines. The four players injured in Sunday's game -- RB Doug Martin (hamstring), DE Robert Ayers (ankle), TE Luke Stocker (ankle) and WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) were not at practice at all, which doesn't bode well for their chances of playing in Sunday's home opener against the Rams.
The offensive line wasn't practicing in an area that could be seen by the media during the 30-minute window open to reporters, so it's unknown how the Bucs lined up in response to Smith being sidelined. The Bucs could insert backup Evan Smith at left guard and slide Kevin Pamphile to left tackle or could put veteran backup Gosder Cherilus at left tackle. The second-string left tackle on the depth chart is undrafted rookie Leonard Wester, who has been inactive for both games so far this season.
