Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Tony Dungy was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday.

As Rick Stroud writes, Dungy started in Tampa Bay in 1996, after he had been passed over time and time again for head coaching jobs. Twice in Philadelphia. Once in Jacksonville.

Dungy remained with the Bucs until 2001, when he was fired after losing in the NFC wild-card round of the playoffs to the Eagles.

In 2002 he was hired by Colts, coaching them until retiring after the 2008 season.
