PK Dimke has tired leg, Tynes bad toe, tryouts on the way?
Rookie Derek Dimke has been perfect on all five field goal attempts this preseason but he isn't without flaws. As the only active place-kicker in training camp -- veteran Lawrence Tynes is unable to practice due to an injured toe -- Dimke has a tired leg.
Perhaps that's why, according to coach Greg Schiano, the Bucs plan to work out kickers. "Yeah, we're bringing some guys in,'' Schiano said Tuesday.
Fox Sports reported the list could include former Cowboys PK David Buehler and Bills PK Rian Lindell.
Tynes, the former Giants and Chiefs place-kicker, was the early favorite to replace PK Connor Barth, who suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in his right leg playing in a charity basketball game a week before camp.
"It's having an impact on a lot of things,'' coach Greg Schiano said of Tynes' injury. "Well, we have one kicker in camp, basically for the entire camp, so He's been doing all the kicking. Now his leg is getting tired as well.''
