Schiano: Injuries appear minor
The biggest scare for the Bucs Friday night was when Pro Bowl running back Doug Martin took a blow to the head while trying to pick up a block in pass protection, forcing him to leave the game.
Coach Greg Schiano said Martin would have came out after the next play anyways, and the second-year back was cleared pretty quickly. Martin said Friday he passed the concussion tests and could have returned to the game.
"He's fine," Schiano said.
As for the other Bucs injuries, WR Tiquan Underwood sustained a knee injury, S Keith Tandy a shoulder injury and CB Anthony Gaitor a hip injury. Though Schiano isn't certain on their status, he believes all our minor, saying the athletic training staff didn't appear "overly concerned."
"I think it's all minor stuff, I think we're going to be okay," Schiano said. "But you never know, you never know until the next morning and they wake up and it's not so minor, especially when you take a three hour plane ride after you do it. So let's see. We'll play it by ear."
