Schiano: Page the "leader" for punt return job

Bucs coach Greg Schiano said that WR Eric Page is the leader right now for the team's punt returner.

Page, an All-American returner at Toledo, went undrafted in 2012 and spent last season recovering from a torn ACL suffered before training camp with the Broncos.

The competition isn't over yet, however, as Schiano pointed out that RB Michael Smith did some good things. And while WR Chris Owusu fumbled a punt, Schiano said it's not the "end of the road" for him. Page is also in the mix for the kick returner spot, but Schiano said they have a lot of different guys they can put there.

Fielding punts, however, is a different animal. "It's a spiral sometime, it's a knuckle ball other times, it's a ozzie flip-flop kick other times, and people are going to hit you a lot of times the minute you touch it," Schiano said. "So it's a totally different skill set."
