Titans ask for Bucs' Robinson to interview for GM job
Other teams are taking notice of some of the Bucs' talent in their front office.
The Titans have asked for permission to interview Jon Robinson, Tampa Bay's director of player personnel, for their vacant general manager's job, the team confirmed.
On Monday, the Titans fired executive vice president and general manager Ruston Webster after six seasons with the club. The Titans own the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft.
Robinson is the right hand man for Bucs general manager Jason Licht. Robinson joined the Bucs two years ago after 12 seasons with the New England Patriots, where he worked with Licht. The final four years in New England, Robinson was the Patriots director of college scouting. The Titans also plan to interview Jaguars player personnel director Chris Polian.
It's not surprising for other teams to have an interest in Robinson. A year ago, he interviewed for the New York Jets GM job.
