What will Revis be feeling?
Bucs cornerback Darrelle Revis will play against his former New Yorks Jets team today, the first game of any kind he has participated in since he tore his left ACL in Week 3 last year.
What will Revis be feeling? His uncle, former defensive lineman Sean Gilbert, offers some insight.
"I’m thinking he’s going to be a ball of emotions, playing against his former team, seeing his old teammates and just getting back on the field. He hasn’t played in almost a year,'' Gilbert said. "There’s going to be a pinball machine going on inside him. I hope and pray he’s able to settle his emotions down and get back into playing the game.
“I told him, ‘you’ve got to let the game come to you. One of my coaches used to say chance favors the prepared man. You have to let the game come to you. You can’pt let the media, coaches or anyone else dictate what you’re supposed to be. If you try to force it, you’re going to be out of synch as far as your role in the defense. I pray he has a great game. I’m excited for him to get back on the field because I know how passionate he is about playing the game.''
