NFL schedule release looming for Bucs

The NFL will release its regular-season schedule this evening, giving us a better sense of what the Bucs will face this fall.

We already know the identity of Tampa Bay’s opponents based on schedule rotations and through strength-of-schedule pairings. But the layout of the schedule is just as critical as the actual opponents.

With road trips to places like Seattle and New England and a home game against the 49ers, there are some real pitfalls. Also of interest will be possible prime-time games.

The release of the schedule is expected about 8 p.m. tonight. Come back then, as we'll post it as soon as it is released.

For now, let’s recap the Bucs’ regular-season opponents (with 2012 records).

HOME: Eagles (4-12), 49ers (11-4-1), Falcons (13-3), Saints (7-9), Dolphins (6-10), Panthers (7-9), Bills (6-10), Cardinals (5-11).

AWAY: Patriots (12-4), Falcons (13-3), Seahawks (11-5), Saints (7-9), Panthers (7-9), Lions (4-12), Jets (6-10), Rams (7-8-1).
