WR Williams expected back Sunday; Bowers wearing boot

TAMPA -- Bucs coach Greg Schiano said Monday that he expects starting receiver Mike Williams, who missed Sunday's game against the Eagles with a hamstring injury, to return healthy for this week's game at Atlanta.

Williams' return is a boost for Tampa Bay's offense, but it's unknown if they'll have guard Carl Nicks, who had a recurrence of a MRSA staph infection in his injured left foot last week and was inactive for the game. He may require surgery to get rid of the infection, but Schiano said he doesn't know how long the former Pro Bowler will be sidelined.

"He's (getting) further evaluation as we speak," Schiano said. "We're just going to make sure we use every resource available to do what's ultimately best for Carl and try to get this thing licked."

Schiano also didn't know the timeline for running back and kickoff returner Jeff Demps, who left Sunday's game with a groin injury but said after the game that he would be OK.

Another injury that could impact Sunday's game is backup defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, who was wearing a walking boot on his right foot as he walked through the locker room Monday. Bowers played only 16 plays against the Eagles and did not register any tackles, with Adrian Clayborn and Daniel Te'o-Nesheim getting most of the work at end. Rookie Steven Means, who logged 12 snaps Sunday and had two tackles, would see more action if Bowers cannot play.
