Appy trails: Why I don't pick often
You guys remember a few weeks back, when the Times had each of its college writers pick a top 10? There's really no need to remember at all. Somebody -- I forget who -- went a little contrarian and picked Michigan to win it all. I'd really just hoped they'd go into Ohio State undefeated, keep things alive and in play until then.
Oh well.
Congrats to Appalachian State for what could end up as the upset of the year. To go into Michigan, lose the lead late and then somehow pull that off? Wow. If there was any teeny-tiny chance the Bulls were taking a Division I-AA team from North Carolina lightly tonight, I think that's now gone, much like your national champion Wolverines.
Go ahead. Flog mercilessly. I deserve it.
