Sorry, golf: WFTS to show USF-Pitt

USF's regular-season finale at Pittsburgh on Nov. 24 will be picked up locally by WFTS Ch. 28, USF announced Tuesday. The station was initially unsure whether it would pick up the Bulls game or broadcast the opening round of the Skins Game golf tournament in California.

USF's strong ratings this past weekend might have helped the Bulls trump the golf. USF drew a 5.4 local rating for its game at Syracuse, the highest in the Tampa market during the 12 years of ESPN Regional broadcasts. That span includes years when Miami was in the Big East, as well as USF games from before the Bulls' entry into the Big East.

Kickoff for USF-Pittsburgh is set for noon. We're still very happy about that.
