Live blog: Plenty of good seats available

Wow. Got in a bit late here to FIU Stadium, where the press box is awkwardly set up in the corner of one end zone -- from my seat right now, I cannot see about half the playing field, and the front row of the "press box" is obscuring the lower half of the field.

What I can see, however, is the stands, and literally thousands of empty seats. The USF seating is in bleachers on one side of the field -- the kind of thing you'd see at a high school football stadium. One end zone is 90 percent empty, and the other is at best half-full. So if the current seating capacity here is 18,000, I cannot imagine there even being 8,000 people here. I'm going to do an actual head count at halftime, the way you'd do it, say, a women's basketball game.

FIU officials have been saying all along that they anticipate a sellout of this game. Well, along the same lines, I'm expecting Heidi Klum to stop by and guest-blog here in the second half ...
