Another Bonani kick puts Bulls up 27-14

Poor Maikon Bonani. The public address announcer here at Tropicana Field keeps announcing his name as MAY-kon bo-NANNY, when you loyal readers know it's actually MIKE-on bo-NONNY.

Once you get past that butchering, Bonani's having a fine game. USF's offense marched down the field and stopped at the 12-yard line, so Bonani ended up with his second field goal, a 37-yarder that has the Bulls up 27-14 midway through the third quarter.

Memphis, too, had moved the ball well on its first drive of the half, as the Tigers got 43 yards on a nifty hook-and-ladder deal to Curtis Steele. That put Memphis on the 33, but USF's defense held up, and when Memphis went for it on fourth-and-8 from the 31, Arkelon Hall's pass sailed out of bounds.

By the way, the three suspended starters -- tight end Cedric Hill, safety Carlton Williams and cornerback Jerome Murphy -- have all entered the game in the second half, so it's just a one-half suspension there.
