Canales not going to Utah State
USF receivers coach Mike Canales confirmed Wednesday night that he will not be leaving USF for the head coaching vacancy at his alma mater, Utah State. Canales was a finalist for the job, but the Aggies have agreed to terms with Utah defensive coordinator Gary Andersen.
It's the second time in the past year that a USF offensive assistant has sought a return to his alma mater -- Greg Gregory expressed an interest in the head coaching job at Richmond after last season, but Virginia defensive coordinator Mike London got the job.
