Bulls baseball 2nd in Big East preseason poll
USF's baseball team has been picked to finish second in the Big East in a preseason poll of the league's coaches, trailing only Louisville, a unanimous pick to win the conference this spring.
Sophomore outfielder Ryan Lockwood was the only USF player on the 14-man preseason All-Big East team. The preseason rankings add even more intrigue to the Bulls' final series of the regular season, a three-game set at Louisville, where USF coach Lelo Prado coached before coming to USF in summer 2006.
We neglected to get a post up when USF's softball team -- last year's regular-season Big East champs -- was also picked to finish second in the Big East this spring. The Bulls have added to their ridiculous pitching depth with a midyear transfer, as freshman Brittany Bowles has transferred from Georgia and will join a strong returning staff.
